Small point, today in LaTeX you can't use nikud unless you generate ps files so it does not cover all possible uses. There is good support of nikud in Texlive/XeTeX (unicode enabled latex) as it uses true-type/open-type fonts of OS directly. However it's Hebrew support is very-very bad and the BiDi is totally broken there. Someone should pick the glove and fix the bidi algorithm and XeTeX and the Hebrew support in general there, but till then... ordinary LaTeX support of Hebrew is much better. Artyom
