Small point, today in LaTeX you can't use nikud unless you generate ps files so
it
does not cover all possible uses. (like pdflatex)

Except by almost all newspapers and 2/3 of all books :-)
(many books use David as well)

There is good support of nikud in Texlive/XeTeX (unicode enabled latex)
as it uses true-type/open-type fonts of OS directly.
However it's Hebrew support is very-very bad and the BiDi is totally broken
there.
Someone should pick the glove and fix the bidi algorithm and XeTeX and
the Hebrew support in general there, but till then...
ordinary LaTeX support of Hebrew is much better.
