Nano photonics is one of the most appealing fields having large variety of
academic as well industrial applications. The main advantage of this field
is in having devices with increased multi-functionality, higher level of
integration, faster operation rate, lower power consumption, small size,
and low cost. This international conference invites research institutes in
countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea to present their new results as
well as review of concepts in various topics related to nano photonics.

Plenary talks to be given by *Prof. Philip Russell* on *"Nanoscale
Structures in Fibre Form" *and by *Prof. **Atac Imamoglu* on *"**Cavity-QED
with a single quantum dot in a nano-cavity".*

Oral presentations (30 or 15 minutes) will be considered and a Poster
session if necessary or specially requested. The language of the conference
is English.
Selected peer reviewed contributions will be published in special issues in
the* Journal of Nano Photonics* and in the journal of *Photonics and
Nanostructures - Fundamentals and Applications*.

Deadline for abstract submission: *10 August 2008*.
A book of abstracts will be available at the conference.
Conference fee is 200 Euro and includes: conference abstracts, conference
dinner and coffee breaks.
For students the fee is 90 Euros.
